Our Mission
The mission of Vox Pastoris ("Voice of the Shepherd") is to provide religious formation for children aged 3 to 12 years through the model of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. In Jesus Christ our Good Shepherd we find our identity, and as we follow His voice we invite children to hear and know Him in turn. Our vision is to raise well-formed members of the Body of Christ by facilitating the encounter between the child and the Good Shepherd.
Who We Are
The Vox Pastoris Atrium grew out of a series of providential friendships and connections. We began working with children in the fall of 2009 and offer all three levels of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. We are fully equipped to prepare children for First Holy Communion. We have had the privilege of sharing the Gospel with over 200 children since 2009.

Our catechist and assistant team includes veteran school teachers and seasoned homeschool mothers, all of whom are faithful, practicing Catholics. Our atrium is located in a private home (like the very first atrium, started by Sofia Cavalletti and Gianna Gobbi) and is governed by the religious non-profit organization Vox Pastoris. The atrium is covered by insurance. All catechists and assistants have taken the Safe Environment training for the Catholic Diocese of Orange, been fingerprinted, and had our backgrounds checked.

Thanks to many years of serving Our Lord together, we have grown in wisdom and discernment regarding the spiritual lives of the children and families who come to us. It is an amazing privilege to accompany these beautiful families and enrich the religious formation already happening at home.

About Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to the religious formation of children aged 3 to 12 years that is
grounded in Scripture and the Liturgy and is based on Montessori methodology. It began in Rome in 1954 with the collaboration of Sofia Cavalletti, a scripture scholar, and Gianna Gobbi, a Montessori educator.

Religious formation is conducted in an "atrium" and involves proclamation of the Word of God, prayer, presentation of aspects of the Liturgy, meditation of the child through work with materials, and celebrations throughout the liturgical year. For more information, please visit www.cgsusa.org.
